I would like to indicate the texts on pre-Columbian societies, especially the peoples of Central and South America. The focus of the discussion is to emphasize the forms of life, organization, thought and social structuring, especially from the point of view of indigenous peoples; I am also interested in texts that speak about Native Americans before the arrival of the colonizers. I accept the indication of texts in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Although it is called an Archaeology Handbook, the "Handbook of South American Archaeology" (2008, edited by Helaine Silverman & William Isbell), is one of the best books about pre-1492 history, linguistics, archaeology, and anthropology of South America. Numerous great articles of the leading experts (from South America, North America and Europe) in the field. I would say it's a must read for anyone interested in the subject. The mesoweb.com & famish.org websites both are very good for information about Mesoamerica.
