I have an"Early English Books Online" copy of Timothie Bright's Treatise on Melancholie, written in the original old English. My copies of relatively recently edited and published Shakespeare works, originally produced by him not too long after Tim Bright, are in much more modern English. Are there any very early editions of Shakespeare's works available anywhere which might reveal, I expect, that the modern versions vary a lot from the original in punctuation and spelling and grammar.
