I have gone through some papers for light traps used in moth biodiversity assessing. Most mentioned the use of mercury vapor lamps and some mentioned UV lamps, but the respective wavelength ranges are not mentioned in either cases. Following up the model names, I found out the range of UV lamps used to be in ~300-480 nm, but I could not find the range for the mercury lamps.

For a researcher which one is to be given priority-publication of journal papers or attending conferences?

For researchers both seem to be necessary but which one is to be given more priority.
