I am going to start my master program (msc agri hons) research in rull of potassium in tomato vigetable crop so what should my objective please guide me
@ Waseem, in tomatoes potassium is helping in pigment synthesis mainly lycopene , very little work has been reported on role of potassium on lycopene content or you may choose potassium role in ionic balance and water status of tomato plants.
Working on the role of K in tomato , should cover, no. of flowers/ branch, and branch / plant, fertility % , no. of fruits /plant, size of fruit, total yield, marketable yield, thickness of peel....
In this article it is stated that "Potassium maintains the ionic balance and water status within the plant. It is involved in the production & transport of sugars in the plant, enzyme activation, and synthesis of proteins. Potassium in tomatoes is also required for pigment synthesis, notably lycopene."
By the way: Don't you have a supervisor with whom you can discuss the topic of your master thesis??
