I want to analyse the circular RC column from experiments in the literature. How can i get its CDP parameters, if I only know compressive strength and E value of concrete..
Hey @Sayed, you have to use available models like kent & park, Hostang's model, etc. from the literature. See the attached paper which will be very helpful to you. I used it for beams and was giving fairly good results but I haven't tried with the column so please check out.
You can use any concrete model (Kent and Park or Mander) to define the stress-strain curve using the compressive strength and elastic modulus. CDP requires yield stress and inelastic strain or cracking strain as input under compression or tension, respectively. For tensile stress-strain curve, use linear softening model using peak strength as 0.7SQRT(fck). If you want to add damage under tension and compression, you can use damage model from the literature. Dilatancy angle for concrete is around 30-35. Other flow parameters can be obtained from the Abaqus manual.
