I am trying to design a high-frequency patch antenna array with a cooperate feed. I have read a couple of papers and Pozar and antenna book and still many things in the papers are confusing.
My question is when its mentioned that the distance between patches is 0.8lemda, then they take it as the distance between the center of two patches? or the space between them?...
the paper I m focusing on mentioned that both the horizontal and vertical spacing in 0.8lemda, but in the figure, he provided horizontal and vertical the spacing don't seem equal in any way...
kindly guide me through it.

The distance is always the distance between centres. If you just did the simple thing of using a ruler to measure you would have been able to tell from your picture that this distance is the same in both directions and not needed to ask this question.
If you can't tell where the middle is then just use the same corner for each patch, the spacing is the same as for the middles.
