I have an issue pertaining to internal consistency (Cronbach alpha value) rule of thumbs that posited by many scholars e.g., must at least secure 0.7 and above, some said 0.5-0.7 is acceptable, some said at least 0.6 etc.(However, one thing in common, despite the variability among the scholars with respect to the issue of "acceptable" or "good enough" value, mostly, they unanimously argued if the value is less than/below 0.5 then it indicates inconsistency or unreliable measure (e.g., questionnaire) thus, it is considered unacceptable. Based on the arguments, insofar i take 0.5-0.7 (so long as it is more than 0.5) as a benchmark. Thus, is it legit to do so? TQ
