Its more a question of attitude. Are your students appreciative of the effort you put in? Are they passionate about the subject matter to begin with?. Sometimes you can do the best for them but also how are you delivering it to them? An easy way to find this out is to have a frank discussion with them and let them know how you feel and also get feedback from them as to how they are dealing with your subject.
