What may create unwanted polymerization or aggregation of poly-aniline oligomers?

Poly-aniline (probably sulfonated form) olygomers in sulfuric acid 20% has sometimes white or brown solid mud rapidly growing on aluminum cathodes. Suspect could be related to impurities, but cannot find the reason or a way to avoid. Cleaning helps but doesn't solve. Someone has experience of this problem or any idea how to avoid it?
