Sometimes writing a research paper becomes an uphill task, and the mind swings between correct and appropriate use of words in context.
Is it reading that contributes writing? what essentially helps a researcher write a coherent research paper?
Is it an individual's mental approach reflected in writing or something else that helps facilitate in producing the research paper.

To me, it's far more about following the process and rules - realising that there is a dichotomy between those that submit manuscripts and those that review. The attached chapter may assist.
Make sure that every sentence can be understood in only one way and that the paper is coherent to the lay-person :)

As a social scientist, writing was one of my basic skills well before I started to write scientific papers. But good writing usually requires a systematic effort of learning, even if we have some "natural talent" to do it.
Perhaps some researchers from formal and natural sciences arrive less trained in the art of writing at the stage of publishing papers. Reading is an indispensable step to develop the necessary skill, But the most important thing is the work of writing and correcting our writings, a process that takes time. I strongly recommend taking lessons with a professional and doing this writing and proofreading with the help of the expert.

A very solid literature review to show that you understand the field in which you are writing and to be able to explain well how your work/idea fits into it. Then you write the rest of the paper around that literature review, always reminding the readers of how your work is important in the context of that field. This includes papers with a lot of technical content, because you always need to discuss your findings - framing this discussion in terms of what you saw in the literature (and using the same language/terms) will give your paper a lot more credibility with readers and reviewers.
