We have recently started a forum on the website of the International Society of Agrometeorology (INSAM). The society has more than 2000 members in  more than 100 countries, and they all have a common interest in agrometeorology. The idea was that members ask other members when they have a technical problem. Yet, the forum doesn't take off. Few people ask questions, and there are few answers, mostly by myself and the web-master in an attempt to kick-start the forum. If I compare this with Research Gate Q&A,  where the population of members is much more diverse, RG is much more responsive. Hence my question: what makes a successful Q&A forum?

Just in case someone is curious, here is the link to INSAM (www.agrometeorology.org) and to the forum (forum.agrometeorology.org)
