Hi, I send a CW signal to my DAC and it comes out as normal. However, when I receive it from the transceiver, it turns into some kind of square wave.
How can this happen? I attached the screenshots of my oscilloscope here.
This indicates that some gain stage is deep onto non-linear region, onto saturation, as Preston Guynn says. Check the output at each gain stage, and try reducing CW signal power.
My observation is
1. Amplifier sections used in the tranciever section might be small signal amplifiers. Or The Gain of the amplifier is Too Large.
2. Higher order Harmonics at the output of amplifier which causes due to nonlinearity of active device used for active circuits.
Are you doing short-range measurements of a system meant to operate at long range? Signal power will fall as 1/range2 so at 1 m will be 40 dB higher (100 times the voltage) than at 100 m.
