What kind of additives can added to vegetable based cutting fluids to improve tribological properties in turn helps to get better performance during turning and drilling of AA6061 and AISI 304L?
I think MoS2 is good or you can try PCTFE in very small percentage since it s dangerous if you use large amount.
First of all the oil should be stabilized against oxidizing and thickening, then it should blended with addtives that enhance its heat removal and lubricating properties. I do not think either MoS2 or PTFE particles will be a good choice unless you made them of very small size, deagglomerate and provide their suspension stability in the oil.
Since some type of vegetable oils are fatty, you can add 0.5 % of PTFE and it will be good for a try. I think you want to be further from anything containing phosphorus.
