Hello everyone, I got curious about artificial intelligence and it's relationship to drug discovery and I wanted to know what are your opinions on the matter.
AI gives exact data on drug discovery. It is because of the fact that AI is the universal method, which we can apply in different fields. Here, the life science should work with AI for their achievement and development in life science.
Hi Tiago, I think what you mean by artificial intelligence is actually machine learning. The two terms are used interchangeably in popular science papers very often, but in my humble opinion mean completely different things. Machine learning is merely a powerful technique and involves really no "intelligence" as one would mistakenly imagine.
AI tries to find a pattern or a relationship in a set of data. Hence, it all depends on the data that you have. AI always will find something :). So if you have an inaccuracy data you will end up with unreliable results. If your data is accurate and enough, I dont see any reasons why AI should not be used.
We can make reference to my IEEE transaction paper on EvoMD. A.I. may search for the structures of drug molecules that can attach to virus such as HIV to hinder their actions.
