Iraq suffered to high precipitation in this mouth and facing floods in several places that was not happened since many decades , the same in Saudi Arabia& Jordan , what is this mean to you , is it anew climatic change that may change the climate of middle East from dry to wet period ???? as we wish to be , Thanks.
Yes, this new and unpredictable phenomenon is related to climate change. the pattern however is that one year witnesses heavy floods, other year(s) experience dryness. A recent study using NASA satellites found that the Tigris and Euphrates basins lost 144 cubic kilometers (about the volume of the Dead Sea) of fresh water from 2003 to 2010 caused by the pumping of groundwater to make up for reduced rainfall. Also, the phenomenon of Tsunami the hits many countries.
