What is therapeutic index?

Therapeutic index is related to LD50 and ED50.

The ‘therapeutic index’ for animals is obtained from the LD50 divided by ED50 (i.e., LD50 / ED50); and for humans, the ‘therapeutic index’ is obtained from the TD50 divided by ED50 (i.e., TD50 / ED50).
