In the Distribution System, after placing PMU , we can get the values of Voltage- magnitude and phase; Current- magnitude and phase; Power, Frequency, rate of change of frequency. So, what is its further applications in distribution system, where these parameters can be further used?
It is necessary for power quality in system operator grid, that's it!!!!!
Usually, PMU installed at a substation and at the power plant; PMU can be applied as a protective relay for further application.

It is used in digital protective relays at substations. And also it is used for wide area monitoring, protection and control.
On paper, PMUs can be used in a distribution system the same way they are used in a transmission system, but the laws of economics are such that they are seldom used. Still, it remains a fantastic means to catch and understand transients and slow phenomenons, and to characterize a feeder's/area's load (e.g., the daily phase angle curve gives somehow a signature of that area's load -- whether residential or not -- and of the quality of the power). ROCOF and phase angle variations can be used for fast load shedding at the distribution substation or for distributed generation islanding management. Lastly, it can be used for local Volt-VAr regulation, primarily at the level of DERs connected directly to a distribution feeder.
Using the measured phasor voltage and current you can perform contingency analysis and security analysis i.e. they are useful for controlling and monitoring of the system .
