Ferrofluid which is made up of nano iron particles (10nm) suspended in a carrier liquid usually have 1 - 1.4 g/cm3 physical density. How one can increase the physical density of ferro fluids in the absence of magnetic field ?
As a suggestion, you can use ionic liquids or surfactants as the carrier liquid.
Alan F Rawle Yes, increasing the concentration is one way to increase the density of ferrofluids. But How much concentration is acceptable in ferrofluids ? I am searching for Ferrofluids having density around 3 - 4 g/cm3. If I can get any reference (data or numbers), it would a great help.
