Hello everybody,

as I found no question or discussion here dealing with retrodeformation of fossil specimens, I would like to ask it.

Currently I am working on CT-scanned fossil urodeles crania and I would like to do Geometric Morphometrics with these. Therefore, I need to somehow retrodeform some of these. Lautenschlager (2016) provides already a short overview of what is generally possible in fixing fossils and mentions some sofware solution, but without describing it in detail.

Especially, I would be interested whether there is already a another (cheap) solution applying retrodeformation than in IDAV Landmark Editor as I am struggling with the instability of the Landmark version 3.0.0.7 used for algorithmic symmetrization retrodeformation?

Would be nice if some people could provide some information.

cheers,

Peter
