We are trying to develop a simple method to measure glucose using glucose oxidase as enzyme and UV absorbance for the detection. We are currently investigating the use of Ag NPs and its reaction with H2O2 (product from the enzyme-glucose reaction). Is this a simple method? What is the simplest way to produce Ag NPs? Is it effective?
The target is to measure glucose in a cell culture.
Hi Vinicius, is there a specific reason you want to detect in the UV range? I've measured hydrogen peroxide produced by d-amino acid oxidase using resazurin. You can then measure the fluorescence quite simply.
