Electrolysis of KHF2. BrF3 is good replacement of elemetal fluorine in many cases as fluorinating agent. NF3 is gas and need some activation. For plastics surface fluorination, laser ablation of perfluorinated polymers is very attractive.
How much safe and productive is the Kark Christie Process??
1. 2 KMnO4 +KF+10 HF+3 H2O2 → 2 K2MnF6 ↓ +8 H2O+3 O2
2. SbCl5 + 5 HF → SbF5 + 5 HCl
3. K2MnF6 + 2 SbF5 → 2KSbF6 + MnF4
4. 2MnF4 → 2MnF3 + F2
HF handling is very dangerous (low boiling, highly toxic and corrosive fluid).
SbF5 is corrosive and strong oxidant ( PTFE and rubber gloves are not resistant), so special steel containers are used.
No ideas about Kark Christie Process. KMnO4 and H2O2 in one pot - really madness (because of runaway decomposition). At first glance - example from scoolbook with no practical value.

Hi,
in our lab we use the electrolysis of melted KF*2HF system. The anode is made from carbon and the cathode is made from steel. Temperature of the process is 100 C. It is considered as a safe and industrial method of F2 production.
It is better to use a KF*2HF or even KF*3HF to decrease process temperature (see the phase diagram of KF-HF system) in comparison with KF*HF.
