Hi Dawit, I believe that educational quality should be like a ladder to climb. For developed countries, having a better educational quality might result in having better softwares to ensure a nice quality of education (this example would be pretty high on the ladder).
However, as education is a serious issue in Africa, especially after the pandemic, I believe le role of educational leaders should be to reinstall a safer and a healthier environment to study. Hence, their role should be to provide better simple infrastructures such as more chairs, tables, books. They should also concentrate on the formation of teachers, find the best teaching strategy according to the infrastructures the country has. You cannot teach in developing countries, the same way as it is done in well developed countries because of infrastructures unfortunately.
PS: the idea of the ladder is not discriminatory, I just think that in order to develop efficiently, we need to use the resources we already have at the maximum of their potential, rather than burning the steps and create a deadlock in education.
School leaders, particularly principals, have a key role to play in setting direction and creating a positive school culture including the proactive school mindset, and supporting and enhancing staff motivation and commitment needed to foster improvement and promote success for schools in challenging circumstances.
