What is the relationship of compressive strength with water absorption, sorptivity, electrical resistivity and ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) test?
Is this always the case that if compressive strength decreases, water absorption and sorptivity should increase and UPV & resistivity should decrease?
my question is specifically about use of fine recycled aggregates in concrete. Some research articles have also stated increase in compressive strength up to some extent of recycled aggregates.

increase in water absorption and sorptivity are clear indication of capillary pores in the concrete mass. With increase in air pockets in the form of empty capillaries the USPV is bound to decrease as the USPV increases only when the mass is dense and devoid of empty spaces.
Effect of recycled aggregate on compressive strength is also depends on type of recycled aggregate with respect to the treatment to the recycled aggregate before use, characterization result of recycled aggregate etc.
As per the research, it is true that increase in compressive strength up to some percentage of replacement of recycled aggregates but optimum percentage of replacement is depends upon above mentioned criteria as well as grade of concrete, types of application etc..
Bhavin G. Buddhdev Yes, but durability properties which I mentioned in the questions, did not improve. Only compressive strength improved up to certain level. I was looking for some answer telling that compressive strength may increase without improvement in durability properties.
