I performed typical time-dependent UV-VIS measurements at a fixed wavelength of a polymer as a probe pollutant . The absorbance was unstable over the time and fluctuated largely. What is the cause behind this effect?
Is you sample colour black??May be your mateial is of such colour that absorbing through the whole wave length range. Now can you please tell that are you interested in calculating the absorptance in absolute value (0.1,0.2) or in percentage value (10%, 20%)??I am also working on the same thing. But I am facing a problem regarding the calculation of the absorptance.
Do you have a genuine solution - if there are even very small particulates, these can scatter light and give random fluctuations. I'd try centrifuging and re-running to check for stability - if it improves, you probably have particles floating around
