I am familiar with maintaining feeding fish at a percentage of its body weight through out its rearing period, for instance feeding Catfish at 5% BW for the 5 months it takes to achieve market weight and of course adjusting every forthnight to fit the new BW. But what i find strange is feeding for 5% for the first 2 months and then at 3% for another two months and then maybe 2% for the last month. If someone can explain the science behind this or perhaps its just a production practice adopted to optimize feeding.
