Hello,

I'm having trouble with optically evoked EPSC measurements and would love to get some insights from experts. ChR2 is expressed in the lateral amygdala, and whole-cell patch-clamp recordings are being performed in the BLA. However, the EPSCs appear abnormally large and show unusual dynamics.

The RA (RS) value is consistently below 20, and it has been confirmed that the patched cell does not directly express ChR2. Given this, what could be causing the issue? The optical power is set to the lowest level of the equipment, and stimulation was applied for 1 ms (around 1–1.5 mW).

Any thoughts on what might be going wrong would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
