In my opinion, violence against women (physical and psychological) stems from the basis of most societies, namely male domination and complete disrespect for human dignity in the home (e.g. ads on TV), at school (competition and grades, brainwashing through distorted social and economic history) and at work ("nothing personal" as business people often say to alleviate the harm caused by their ruthless actions)
