Question: If I only look at books and research that other researchers have written on the subject of my research and use them for research, this is a qualitative method, but if only use these books and research that are related to My chosen topic what would be the population? Unite and sampling?
I looked up 'unite and sampling' in qualitative research and could not find any mention of it. I'll be interested to read what others can give you regarding further information.

I think it is very safe to say that sampling techniques and purposes are more relevant and applicable in qualitative methods. However, this doesn't mean that sampling techniques are not relevant to qualitative methods. When we are doing qualitative studies we can't include all available units in our studes and as a result we have to choose a sample which means that we have to be able to make limitations as including all available units is not posiible taking intoconsideration the time and resource factors.

When we are going for the total population of the universe as our study, it is called as population technique.
Sample is an unit of the whole population. It can be purposive, stratified or focused. When the universe is very large, I mean with a large population , then sampling technique is opted.

It was the phrasing of the question that I was unfamiliar with, rather than the concept as a whole. But appreciate you taking the time to write to clarify it for me. It was qualitative research that I did, but I could not find anything that specifically answered the question from Hekmatullah Aziz
