The two questions above relate to the chemistry of Aspirin.
For both questions, I am looking for a specific value of range of values.
In terms of Aspirin production it is important to know that it comes from patents: U.S. 4,376,867 and U.S. 6,278,014 B1. Now, for the carboxylation a temperature of 192ºC is required, this being a bottleneck in the continuity of the process. Also, before reaching the downstream stage, a slow cooling down of 85ºC is required. As for the pH, most of the components work in a range of 6 to 9 (with the exception of acetic anhydrous).
