Automation means use of computers at the place of registers (print). Fully automation means no use of registers for acquisition, accessioning, circulation, record keeping, serials control or any other activity.
Thank you so much for your explanation and partially satisfied with you.
I have visited a few libraries. They have used all the modules (aquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serials control and OPAC module) with limited access points, but when I asked if their library is fully automated? Then they said only the cataloguing and circulation module is fully automated, and the rest of the module is partially automated. Being a LIS Professional, how could we measure and say the library is fully or partially automated? Is there any set parameter for this?
According to their Practice (Particular Library) Acquisition to OPAC (Library routines) regular basis who are all following for those libraries we have to consider as a fully automated libraries.
