I am working on antioxidant profiling of medicinal plant extracts, and I aim to assess lipid peroxidation levels induced by oxidative stress in biological systems. Although the TBARS assay (based on MDA content) is widely used, it may not always give specific results due to interfering compounds in herbal matrices. Has anyone compared TBARS with other methods like FOX, DPPP fluorescence, or HPLC-based detection? Which method gives better specificity and reproducibility when testing plant-derived antioxidants?
