What is the main challenges in the addressing devices in the future internet of things? Do you think the solution based on EPC (Electronic Product Code) is better or the solution based on IPv6? and why?
Source authentication : a common problem between IoT and standard Internet
Address Auto-configuration: partially solved with the lightweight Neighbor Discovery Protocol (RFC 6775, ND Proxies, etc.)
Deployment : some of issues are discussed in RFC 7547
Mobility Management : micro and micro-mobility and how a mobile node can affect the numbering of others nodes
Multicast Addressing : a serious issue as most of protocols intend to avoid multicast for low power and low processing devices to save energy consumption
A set of IETF working groups are attempting to provide some solutions, but we are far away from a viable and scalable one.
Obviously, if you combine the above scenarios, you will get more complex issue to solve !

The main three challenging facing the Internet of Thing (IoT):
1) The technology
2) security
3) connectivity
The IoT contains all the the needed technologies that make the IoT systems as a part of existing systems ... Because of that IoT deals with most of challenges include the standard, Security, connectivity, intillegent and analysis
The security challenges occur due to the IoT contents like smart home , cars , etc ... So they will be hacked easier in the future that will affect the IoT benefits
While the connectivity part when the the IoT connect many devices together so it need huge investments depending on mainraing servers and authenticate method to deal and solve this challenge

While I believe that EPC will be good for local identification in local networks, IPv6 will enable Internet participation of billions of things (actuators and sensors) for ubiquitous accesses and control. IPv6 is therefore an IoT enabler.
