What is the effect on surface area of TiO2 for increased doping of Ca?

It has been proven at lower Ca:Ti (0.5 % - 1 %) molar ratio doped TiO2 facilitate higher surface area and increased photo catalytic activity. Further more at increased ratio of Ca:Ti the photo catalytic activity get reduced due to enhancement of recombination sites, but what happens to the surface area? Does it get reduced? if yes; then why?

It is natural , the high surface area will permanent to Ca to load on photocatalyst then decrease the surface area at last.............
