The finer fraction of waste was heated at the various temperature ranging from 60oC to 500oC. Thermal treatment of waste was carried out at 60oC, 105oC, 200oC, 300oC, 400oC, and 500oC by keeping waste for 3 hours in muffle furnace and after heating, single batch leaching was performed and metals were analyzed in the water extract.
From the analysis, it was observed that concentration of heavy metals was increased when the material was heated from 60oC to 300oC and after that, it falls down and least concentration of metals was observed from leachate corresponds to the thermal treatment of soil at 500oC.
