Could somebody recommend references for bioenergetics of zooplanktivorous and benthivorous fish? Caloric and protein-richness of food (zooplankton and benthos) is more or less equal in fish under study. However, differences in size of food particles and swimming expenses during 'hunting' and may be in food digestion (and/or transportation) .I guess this can influence bioenergetics.
