My basic understanding of both effects is that they are based on absorption of light by vibrating molecules. What then could be the essential difference between the two? Can the FC effect then be used to explain the Anti-Stokes lines predicted by the Raman effect?
Kindly pardon me as I am new to this field and am ignorant about these fantastic phenomena of science.
