System that is a relatively large and complex, dynamically evolving, and physically distributed system of pre-existing, heterogeneous, autonomous, and independently governed systems with significant amounts of unexpected emergent behavior and characteristics.
Good definition of system of systems.
This definition appears to leave little room of "integration" in this context.
If one asked the same question about a family of systgems then the answer may be quite different.

I think that the integration in the context of System of Systems in the proceess of adding or joining new systems (sub-systems) to the global system without influencing its performence regarding diffirents level of observation.
Systems of systems integration are complex systems devoted to the conciliation betweeen the component parts (systems) of the more spam ones. Before the existence of a almost infinite piramid of natural and artificial systems it is needed an almost infinite piramid of decision making and information systems for itsoptimal conciliation layer by layer, using multiple objetive optimization, simulation, graphical and decisions evaluation by the personal in charge
Completing the pervious answer: just by implementing corrrectly designed almost infinite piramids of systems of systems corresponding to the real world it is possible the optimal use of all kind of resources, and indispensable condition for the survival of the human being over the Earth
Systems Engineering (SE) implies sharing of information, data, process and knowledge [20] across different levels in an enterprise. Division of work into classes and then to the work-groups or to the concurrent sub-teams is one form of sharing.
System of Systems Integration implies sharing information in a concurrent engineering organization, where collaborating knowledge among a set of multidisciplinary work-groups, array of computers and processes are intended.
