On which aspects of human emotion displayed through text or other media people are working on ? What further advances have been done since the discovery of 3 fold emotion in text (positive, negative and neutral) ?
Research indicates that emotion is not easily expressed or interpreted between senders and receivers who communicate through computer mediated communication methods such as text messaging. This fast paced, inexpensive and technologically advanced communication tool of text messaging has become a socially acceptable and valid form of communication in the twenty first century in many populations, cultures, and regions. We can interpret accurately the four emotions of: joy, anger, sadness, and guilty. Linguistic analysis could possibly explain the relationship between confidence and accuracy in angry text messages. It may be harder to express anger in words rather than expressing joy, sadness and guilt in such a manner.
Sentiment analysis over social media offers organizations and individuals a fast and effective way to monitor the publics’ feelings towards them and their competitors. To assess the performance of sentiment analysis methods over social media a small set of evaluation datasets have been released in the last few years. (Hassan Saif, 2013,UK).
