There is no such criteria now, but It should be defined first. For example, GMOs or their products are safe for human to consume or not? Which points we must concern here?
i think the experiments done on animals like mice or frogs can be a way to detect the threats in the GMO or their products especially the food & medicinal products...
The experiments should be only preliminary determination or cursory testing, not the exactly safety judgment. I think that the mice or frog can not be good models representing human physiological system. For example, the mice body can produce vitamin C but not for human one and the frog is an ectotherm animal. The guinea pig may be better in this case. However, not all thing approved as safe in animals can be trusted when they are applied in human. Furthermore, even testing in animal, what criteria (especially long term monitoring needed ones) should be observed for ensuring that it safe for us.
