Personally, in general, I evaluate the different results obtained with different methods of analysis not absolutely, but by comparing the trend of the values with other similar materials or whose behaviour I know.

I also use surface analyzes a lot, both before and after exposure to the corrosive environment, which provide me with additional information on the type and intensity of the corrosive attack.

I agree with Dr. Pierluigi Traverso and his recommendations, in particular regarding the use of the measurements for comparative purposes rather than absolute values. The corrosion rates determined by electrochemical methods can be different than those measured by mass loss due to a number of issues (e.g. solution resistance, scan rate); ASTM G59"Standard Test Method for Conducting Potentiodynamic Polarization Resistance Measurements" also discusses some bias in the measurements, for example. The scan rate using during polarization can also affect the corrosion rate. For example: Diego A. Fischer, Ignacio T. Vargas, Gonzalo E.
