The Research Interest score is a weighted average of several factors, with the greatest weight given for citations (0.5), and the lowest weight given for reads by members of ResearchGate (0.05).

Reads by non-members of ResearchGate are given a weight of 0.

It is obvious that the larger is the number of reads and citations, the higher will be the Research Interest score.

This leads to the obvious query as to how the RG score is calculated.

It is possible to have a very high RG score (say, 60+), while having a relatively low Research Interest score (such as below 2,500), which suggests there are few Reads and Citations.

How can the very high RG score and the relatively low Research Interest score be reconciled?
