Use Lean approach. It has three stages:

1. Eliminate the waste in the process.

2. Remove the unevenness in the operating procedure.

3. Reduce the overburden in the work load.

That should do the job.

Machines not humans... Machine automation provides standardization within the machine's specifications.

I would start with doing some benchmarking, follow the best practices of the big franchises such as McDonald's or Burger King.
