I need to prepare dry amylopectine powder from potatoe starch. Centrifugation seems to be the most appropriate way. Should I use any sedimentation agent to precipitate it conveniently?
It depend on how you purify and what do you want to do... Did you already purify the entire starch ? (if not you can use a percoll at 90% qnd centrifuge as explain in Deschamps et al. 2006). After you have to boil to separate amylose and amylopectin. Then the better methods to separate both is a size exclusion chromatography type Cl2b. The amylopectin extract could be dialyzed (if you use a salt in the Cl2B) and desicated.
