What do you mean about metal removal from Glass waste (such as broken glass; glass particles gathered from garbage and so on)? if you mean removal of iron impurities (Fe2O3) it is possible via magnetic high intensity separator; However type of process (wet or dry) is very important to arrange purification circuit; probably it needs preliminary sorting crushing or milling and thereafter sending to magnetic separators for Iron and Chromium impurities removal. During my M.Sc and PhD studentship I have examined a lot of tests for purification of raw materials for glass industry. Which kind of glass standard you want to achieve it?
Enclosed I have attached crushed and sorted glass pieces and particles which it is fed via belt conveyor to dry high intensity magnetic separator (DHIMS).
I hope this information will be useful; however you can always use acidic leaching for metallic impurities removal. You can find some of my works on purification of impurities from silica which is used in glass industry.
Please do not hesitate to contact me in case of any questions.
Regarding M.Sc and PhD thesis; My PhD thesis has not written yet and it is under progress. About my master thesis it belongs to colleague of engineering at university of Tehran and it can be accessible via our library.
But I have other silica papers which are not published at research-gate I should send it via Email; please let me know what exactly you want to do in your case?
