I have a dependent variable that represents the number of times a person will blow the whistle. Everyone is forced to report at least once, but they don't have to report more than that. However, they are given the option to report up to four times in total. As such, our DV is a count of the number of times they choose to report, which ranges from 1 to 4. The mean is 3.22 with a std. deviation of .985. Due to the lack of a normal distribution and how their responses are limited to a maximum of 4, I am uncertain as to the appropriate statistical procedure to use. We want to see how two manipulated variables (each manipulated at two levels) impact the number of reports. Any information or insights anyone has is greatly appreciated!
