Boron mixture (Boric acid: Borax = 2:3) is used to treat Pinewood (Pinus caribaea). However, different industries are using different solution strengths; ex 8%, 12%, 30%. Most of the pinewood is utilized for internal uses; furniture and construction timber, which do not expose to wet conditions. Is there any recommended solution strength to treat pine saw wood, which is used for furniture/panelling/other internal items etc.? Both the full cell (Pressure treatment) method and the Diffusion method are used for the treatment process.
