We are currently looking for a new mobile eye tracker. In the past, we used the SMI ETG. Since this company was bougth by apple, it does not provide support anymore. Therefore we are looking for a new company that provides eye trackers as well as supporting software. What experiences do you have? What are the best options available at the moment?

unfortunately there is no "best for all purposes" eye-tracker. The decision for one type of machine/system depends on what you want to measure, the degree of accuracy, maximum resolution and frequency (i.e. 30, 60, 100, 500, 1000Hz). Head-mounted devices (pupil labs, SMI, Tobii Glasses, eyelink_II) provides high grades of freedom to move but they systematically lack a bit of accracy and frequency. The fixed systems (smarteye, tobii, eyelink_mobile) are more accurate, but they will only work in more static scenes.
It depends on what kind of sport you want to observe and what measures you want to gain.
To my experience, acquiring data is only half the way - the software solutions to calibrate and to get results (stability, usability, documentation, rawData access, standard-measures) are more critical to researchers.

We are currently retrieving more information of the Tobii Glasses and the Pupil Labs solution.
Tobii seems a well established company and has already a large amount of experience. In the past, we thought the samen about SMI, but they suddenly disappeared from the market. Therefore we are looking for a solid company that normally should stay around for technical support. Tobii also seem to offer good software tools that might help analysing the data.
Pupil Labs on the other hand seems to have quite nice solutions as well. We contacted iMotions, and they referred to the Tobii and the Pupil Labs glasses. iMotions might also offer software for the Pupil Labs. We will look into this the following days.

If you are still looking for an eye-tracker ideal for sports, I would strongly recommend the latest release of Pupil-labs, the Pupil Invisible: https://pupil-labs.com/products/invisible/
I have a pair myself for prototyping eye-tracking applications and their auto-calibration feature is truly impressive. Also, you just need a smartphone to run the whole data collection.
Tobii eye-trackers are usually good as well as cheaper than SMI eye-trackers. However, after being bought by apple SMI has started manufacturing good quality eye-tracking glasses which are very convenient and portable for recording.
