Good night dear Ajay Telang, to answer your question, there are different ways to analyze academic scores ...
If you convert the scores (quantitative variable) to a quality (qualitative variable), such as: approved and disapproved, and you want to compare with other data such as gender or scores to each other. It would be convenient to use the chi-square analysis.
If you do not become the scores (quantitative variable) and you want to compare with other data such as gender. It would be convenient to use the association index Cohen's d (qualitative variable dichotomous) or the index Cohen's f (qualitative variable multiple).
If you do not become the scores (quantitative variable) and only want to compare between them. It would be convenient to use the regression coefficient of Pearson.
Deficiency with these last 2 methods, is that it can only be done in one person, that is, only you can do it if the student disapproved of the course and retook the course.
My suggestion is to analyze several courses for each student, so it will be easier to apply any of these methods with their respective statistical analyzes.
You must also take into account many variables involved, because academic performance is influenced by many factors.
