Dear researchers,

Conventional particle analysis of soil sample using ordinary sieve analysis in both dry and wet methods on sieve Nr. 200 of opening size 0.075 mm according to ASTM standard or DIN and BS standards is almost NOT applicable. This is because of the dissolution of gypsum particles during washing the soil mass. Some researchers used other liquid such as "Kerosin" instead of water to wash the soil on Sieve 0.075 mm and to avoid gypsum dissolution.

In your opinion: What is the best method for particle size analysis of gypseous or salts soils?

Kind regards
