Is there any guidelines regarding the appropriate timing to write a review paper about recent concepts? If a concept emerged 4 or 5 years ago and is widely used by scholars and professionals to refer to different meanings, is it the right time to conduct a general review to articulate the current state of knowledge of the topic?

The appropriate time to write a review paper is when nobody has yet done so, but there are already gaps or contradictions in the published papers. Even when the original definition has drifted, it is a good time to draw attention to this defect.
